What are Gem Lessons and Book Lessons?

Once you log in, you’ll see the Magic Circle appear. This is your main screen and where you’ll navigate between lessons on your magical coding adventure. To start, click the numbered buttons, which are called “Gem Lessons”, and complete those lessons. Once you complete the Gem Lessons for a given chapter, complete the “Book Lessons”, which give you the opportunity to apply all the skills you’ve learned from that chapter’s Gem Lessons. 

You’ll notice that Book Lessons are located in the center of Gem Lessons. We recommend that you complete the Gem Lessons in their entirety in numerical order before you start the Book Lesson for that chapter. For example, complete all the three media art Gem Lessons surrounding Mickey before moving onto Mickey’s Book Lesson.

Where to Find All Gem Lessons and Book Lessons

You can see all Gem Lessons and Book Lessons in a list view within Magic Circle. Click the button located in the top-right corner of the Magic Circle (circled in red below) to see them listed for you.
